SAD NEWS JUST IN: Michigan State football a sad news just now
Everyone knows that injuries are the worst part of sports, and they become even more challenging when they occur early in the season. Michigan State football had been fortunate this year, entering the season with no major injuries and only one player on the injury report before their Friday game. However, their luck ran out during their 16-10 win over Florida Atlantic, as Jonathan Smith just announced that three Spartans have sustained long-term injuries.
Jonathan Smith says Dillon Tatum, Alante Brown and Kahlil Majeed are all long-term injuries.

Smith also provided details about the expected recovery times for each player, with defensive back Dillon Tatum already ruled out for the season. Tatum, who was entering his third season at Michigan State, was set to be a significant part of the rotation this year. Despite playing well in his limited snaps on Friday, ending the game with three tackles, Tatum will redshirt this season, preserving two years of eligibility.
The next major loss is wide receiver Alante Brown. Smith is hopeful Brown could return by November, but it’s still a significant blow to an already inexperienced wide receiver group. Montorie Foster Jr. will now be heavily relied upon, which is concerning given his underwhelming performance against FAU. True freshman Nick Marsh will also need to step up, but there’s confidence that he can handle the challenge.
Finally, another defensive back, Khaleel Majeed, is also likely out for the season, much like Tatum. While Majeed’s absence may not be as impactful as Tatum’s, losing two players in the same position group for the season is far from ideal.
Michigan State will need to closely monitor future injuries, as any further setbacks in key positions could be particularly damaging. While the hope is to avoid more injuries, the reality is that they will occur, and MSU must be prepared to handle them strategically.
