The Seattle Seahawks have brought in wide receiver ahead of their Week 2 game against the New England Patriots. To create space for Scott, the Seahawks released linebacker Michael Barrett.

Barrett had only been with Seattle for a few weeks, joining the team after they traded veteran cornerback Michael Jackson to the Carolina Panthers on August 22, 2024. However, Barrett’s time with the Seahawks was brief.

Scott, an undrafted free agent from the 2023 NFL draft, was initially signed by the Kansas City Chiefs but didn’t make their final roster after a few short stints during the offseason. Seattle originally signed him in July, but he was waived on August 27. Now, Scott is getting another chance with the Seahawks.

New Seahawks WR Ty Scott Is Coming Off a Standout UFL Season

What can fans anticipate from Scott? Scott faces an uphill struggle to become a key contributor in a crowded receiver room.

Scott, however, is coming off a stellar season in the United Football League as the DC Defenders’ best receiver. Scott totalled 25 receptions for 418 yards and three touchdowns.

The Seahawks Are 3-Point Favorites Versus the Patriots

The Seahawks are 3-point favourites against the Patriots in Week 2. Seattle entered as a 3.5-point favourite, but the line is gradually shifting towards the Patriots.

Both of these teams enter this battle with a 1-0 record, as New England stunned the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1. Jacoby Brissett is likely to start as quarterback for the Patriots again this season as the team gradually integrates rookie Drake Maye.

The Seahawks’ offensive line will need to improve on its weak performance in the season opener if they are to go 2-0.
