Garett Bolles, the Broncos’ veteran left tackle, is set to become a free agent after the 2024 season, but he’s expressed a strong desire to remain with Denver. Despite his hopes for a new deal, Bolles, entering his eighth NFL season, is committed to continuing his career regardless of whether he stays with the Broncos. The 32-year-old previously signed a four-year, $68 million extension during John Elway’s final year as general manager. Since then, the team, under GM George Paton and head coach Sean Payton, has invested heavily in the offensive line, bringing in players like right tackle Mike McGlinchey and left guard Ben Powers, as well as extending right guard Quinn Meinerz.

While there has been speculation about Bolles’ future, the Broncos did not entertain the idea of trading him before the 2024 season. Bolles, who is Denver’s longest-tenured player, has made it clear he wishes to continue his time in Denver, but securing another big contract could be difficult given the team’s other financial commitments on the offensive line. However, Bolles has no plans to retire if a new deal with the Broncos isn’t reached.

Payton Reaffirms 'Good News' on Broncos LT Garett Bolles

Bolles, a former first-round pick, emphasized his health and longevity, stating, “I feel like I’m in good health, and my mind and body feel great. I feel young despite my age, and I believe I can play for many more years.” A consistent presence on the offensive line, Bolles has started in 100 games, though he has yet to make a playoff appearance. Last season, he ranked 19th among all tackles in Pro Football Focus’ overall grading.

With a history of remaining durable—aside from missing time in 2022—Bolles could attract significant interest on the open market if he avoids injury in 2024. It remains to be seen if the Broncos will extend him or let him test free agency, but Bolles appears focused on securing another multi-year deal, whether in Denver or elsewhere.
