Recruiting has taken a swift and exciting turn for Tim Griffin‍ in the past couple of weeks.

The 2025 defensive end from Georgia initially had offers from Alabama A&M, Georgia State, Western Kentucky, and UMass. However, on September 8th, Alabama extended an offer, and within two weeks, Notre Dame, Florida, and Cincinnati followed suit.

Suddenly, the standout from Alcovy High School finds himself being pursued by some of the top programs in college football.

“The Alabama offer really put my name on the map,” said the 6-foot-5.5, 250-pounder in an interview with Irish Sports Daily. “I feel like it brought a lot of attention to me. It’s great attention because it opened so many doors for me. So, I do thank them for that.”

Griffin is taking a thoughtful approach to his recruitment. “Now, I’m going to sit back, really check out every program, not just for the football aspect because I’m a great student-athlete as well. I need to see what program fits me as an athlete and as a person because college can change your life for the better.”

He received his offer from Notre Dame during a call with defensive line coach Al Washington.

“He’s a great guy,” Griffin said of Washington. “We connected from the start.”

Griffin has already scheduled an official visit to Notre Dame for their game against Stanford on October 12th.

“I know it’s a good program,” he said. “I feel like they’re building something special, and I can’t wait to check it out.”

Recently, Griffin completed an unofficial visit to Cincinnati, following earlier unofficials to Florida and Alabama.

“It was great,” Griffin said of Cincinnati. “I had an amazing time. I actually set my official visit while I was there. I can’t wait to get back.”

He’s planning to return for official visits to all three schools, but Notre Dame will get their shot in a couple of weeks.
