ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky recently stirred controversy with his critical comments about the Philadelphia Eagles and their quarterback, Jalen Hurts. During a segment on ESPN, Orlovsky described the Eagles as a “poorly coached football team” and criticized Hurts, calling him a “liability” on offense. “Watch their tape. Since the start of 2023, has anyone on the team improved?” Orlovsky remarked. The former NFL quarterback also harshly evaluated Hurts, who led the Eagles to a Super Bowl last season.

“In just 20 games, Jalen Hurts has gone from being the Super Bowl MVP to a liability on offense,” Orlovsky added. His remarks sparked debate, especially given the Eagles’ struggles without key players like wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, which has impacted Hurts’ ability to make downfield plays. Despite this, Hurts ranks 11th in passing yards (930) and has six total touchdowns with 163 rushing yards. Although turnovers have been an issue, labeling Hurts a “liability” may be an overstatement given his recent performance.
