BREAKING: Packers Running Back Josh Jacobs Suspended; NFL Career in Jeopardy
The Green Bay Packers returned to form on **Sunday Night Football**, defeating the Seattle Seahawks **30-13** on the road to improve to **10-4** this season. As the Packers push toward the playoffs, an ex-Packer may have played his final game in the NFL.
According to **Ian Rapoport**, the **San Francisco 49ers** have suspended linebacker **De’Vondre Campbell** for three games, effectively ending his season. The decision came after Campbell refused to enter the game during the third quarter against the **Los Angeles Rams** on Thursday Night Football and instead walked to the locker room.
Campbell’s actions may have jeopardized his future in the NFL. Despite tallying **79 total tackles** this season, the 31-year-old has struggled with inconsistency. Pro Football Focus (PFF) ranks Campbell among the league’s worst linebackers, with a **58.3 overall grade** (117th out of 172), a **57.4 run defense grade** (133rd), and a **59.1 coverage grade** (85th). Additionally, he has missed **12 tackles** this year.
Campbell’s on-field struggles are compounded by a history of off-field friction. Upon leaving Green Bay last spring, Campbell publicly criticized the Packers’ coaching staff, claiming he was *“misused”* during the **2023** season. His comments, combined with social media jabs, raised concerns about his attitude. Now, his decision to quit on his team during a primetime game has only added to the turmoil.
Instead of releasing him, the 49ers opted to suspend Campbell to prevent him from landing with another team—particularly a playoff contender. Quitting on a team is often seen as unforgivable in the NFL, and Campbell’s recent behavior may have ended his professional football career.
