The Golden State Warriors made a daring move against the Boston Celtics in a recent game, which sparked controversy.

During an episode of Gil’s Arena, Gilbert Arenas, a former NBA star and now a commentator, criticized the Warriors for their bold choice to leave the Boston Celtics’ standout player, Jaylen Brown, unguarded.

Arenas argued that while leaving certain players open might be a strategic move, it didn’t make sense in Brown’s case, given his significant impact and high salary. This decision backfired as Brown capitalized on the opportunity, leading to the Celtics’ victory over the Warriors in Boston. Since that game, Golden State has struggled to regain their momentum.

When questioned about the strategy regarding Brown, Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr explained that they experimented with different defensive approaches, aiming to balance defensive assignments and prevent easy scoring opportunities.

However, Kerr acknowledged that their defensive lapses, particularly in transition, were detrimental to their performance. Arenas strongly opposed Kerr’s stance, emphasizing the mistake in leaving a player of Brown’s caliber open on the perimeter.
