When Tarik Skubal departed the game after his most recent appearance due to left-sided soreness, Tigers supporters became alarmed. Thankfully for Detroit, the team’s manager seems to have things under control and is even anticipated to return to his regular duties.

A. J. Hinch, the manager of the Tigers, declared that Skubal’s discomfort was not significant hours after he was unable to throw in the fourth inning against the Miami Marlins.

“The news is all positive. According to the Associated Press, Hinch stated, “The scan came back clean.” “So obviously, that’s great for us and great for him.”

“We need to put forth a lot of effort to help him get over this discomfort. I don’t like that he or any of our soldiers are in any kind of pain. We were all obviously anticipating the scan and examination, so hearing good news is a nice step.

On his X account, renowned MLB expert Bob Nightengale stated that Skubal is progressing so well that he will even start against the Cleveland Guardians, who will play the Tigers at Progressive Field from Tuesday through Thursday.

For the Detroit squad, which leads the American League Central Division with an 84-65 record going into Sunday, this is great news. They would undoubtedly skip the Wild Card Series and go straight to the Division Series if they keep up their present pace.

As the Tigers’ rotation anchor, Skubal has been instrumental in this outcome. With 13 victories and five defeats in 29 games, the 28-year-old left-hander is enjoying yet another stellar season. With 228 strikeouts and just 28 walks, he leads the American League in ERA at 2.26.

Skubal won the Triple Crown with 18 wins, a 2.39 ERA, and 228 strikeouts in the previous season, which was, as you may remember, his breakout performance. He went on to win the American League Cy Young Award, of course.

The Tigers want to break their already too lengthy championship drought. They haven’t won the American League championship since 2012, and they haven’t won the World Series since 1984. They haven’t prevailed in the division series since 2013.
