NBA insider Marc Stein reports that the Los Angeles Clippers have shown interest in trading for Charlotte Hornets forward PJ Washington. The Hornets, currently holding the third-worst record in the Eastern Conference at 10-37, are open to selling players, with only LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Mark Williams considered untouchable in trade discussions, according to sources from NBA Analysis Network.

PJ Washington, averaging 13.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.8 blocks this season, has caught the Clippers’ attention. His shooting percentages stand at 44.9% from the field, 33.8% from beyond the arc, and 74.1% from the free-throw line. The 25-year-old forward is currently under a three-year, $46.5 million contract with the Hornets, signed in August 2023.

Despite already making a significant trade this season by acquiring James Harden from the Philadelphia 76ers, the Clippers, with a current record of 32-15 and sitting in third place in the Western Conference standings, seem keen on exploring further opportunities. Led by a formidable lineup of Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook, the Clippers appear to be strong contenders for the NBA title.

PJ Washington, drafted 12th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Kentucky, holds career averages of 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.0 blocks. The NBA trade deadline is approaching on February 8, and while the Clippers are already among the league’s top teams, the possibility of acquiring Washington from Charlotte adds an intriguing element to the trade landscape.
