Free agency activity in the NBA has significantly decelerated in recent days, with many top free agents already securing deals with new teams.

The Dallas Mavericks made a swift move by acquiring Klay Thompson through a sign-and-trade, finalizing a three-year contract with him. Apart from this notable transaction, activity on the Mavericks’ front has been relatively subdued.

Currently, they have 14 players under contract, leaving one roster spot open. Additionally, the team utilized one of their three two-way spots in a recent move on Wednesday afternoon.

Dallas Mavericks re-sign Brandon Williams to two-way contract

According to Mavs PR, Dallas has re-signed Brandon Williams to a two-way contract for the upcoming season. Williams initially joined the Mavs midway through last season on a two-way deal, where he made a significant impact, particularly in the G League.

Last season with the Texas Legends, Williams showcased his scoring prowess by averaging 24.1 points per game. Although his NBA minutes were limited, he appeared in 17 games for Dallas, averaging 3.2 points and 1.0 assists per game.

Dallas Mavericks, Brandon Williams

At just 24 years old, Williams is viewed as a promising prospect due to his strong performances in the G League. Known for his quickness, ball-handling skills, and ability to finish at the rim, he also possesses a reliable mid-range jumper. While his three-point shooting has room for improvement, Williams has shown confidence in taking difficult shots.

Re-signing Williams to a two-way contract is seen as a strategic move by Dallas, providing depth in the backcourt while allowing him to continue his development. There’s optimism that he could eventually earn a more prominent role with the Mavericks.
