The Los Angeles Chargers have extended safety Elijah Molden’s contract after acquiring him in an August trade. Per Ian Rapoport, Molden signed a three-year, $18.75 million deal, including $13.5 million in guaranteed money. He started 12 games for the Chargers last season, posting a career-best 72 tackles, along with three interceptions, seven pass breakups, and two forced fumbles during the 2024 campaign. Molden played a key role in a defense that led the NFL in scoring, allowing just 17.7 points per game.

Originally drafted 100th overall by the Tennessee Titans in 2021, Molden played college football at Washington, where Pro Football Focus named him the 2020 Pac-12 Player of the Year.
